AI (artificial intelligence)

A computer program that learns from examples and makes good guesses.

Chatbot

An AI tool you can talk to by typing or speaking. It writes back in plain words.

Prompt

The question or request you type into an AI tool.

Voice assistant

AI you talk to out loud, like Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant.

Made-up answer

When AI states something false as if it were true. Experts call this a "hallucination."

Deepfake

A fake video, photo, or voice made with AI to look or sound real.

Voice clone

A copy of a real person's voice, made with AI.

Bias

When AI treats some people or groups unfairly, because it learned from unfair examples.
